How the daily Sudoku works
Every day at midnight UTC a new classic 9×9 Sudoku unlocks. Like every puzzle on vSudoku, it has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone — no guessing. Your progress saves automatically, so you can start on the bus and finish at lunch.
The difficulty follows the week: a gentle start on Monday, a steady climb, and the toughest board of the week on Sunday.
Keep your streak going
Solve the daily puzzle on consecutive days to build a streak. Short daily sessions are the most effective way to get better at Sudoku — our article on building a daily Sudoku habit explains why. Check your current streak, best times and win rate on your stats page.
Frequently asked questions
When does the daily Sudoku change?
A new puzzle unlocks every day at midnight UTC (01:00 in Morocco and Central Europe during winter time, 20:00 the evening before in New York). The countdown on this page shows exactly how long is left.
Is the daily puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. Every visitor gets the same board on the same day, so you can compare times with friends and family.
How does the streak work?
Solve the daily puzzle on consecutive days to grow your streak. Missing a day resets it. Your streak and times are saved in this browser — no account needed.
I missed a day. Can I still play it?
Yes. Every past daily puzzle stays available in the archive. Archive puzzles don't extend your current streak, but they do count towards your stats.
What happens if I make three mistakes?
The game ends, but the daily puzzle stays open all day — press “Try again” to restart the same board.
